Life at Colusa Drive has been different so far in 2012. Kerry is working nights which means he leaves home around 4:30 in the afternoon and then gets home at 6:30 a.m. He may eat a little something before going to bed, but he's in bed all day until 3:00 and then getting ready to go to work.
It's boring. 'nuff said.
So, I've been trying to not be a pain in the ass and am trying to take care of absolutely everything - house, dogs, yard, cars, bills, sewing, etc., and being quiet while I'm doing it. Most things work well except the vacuum cleaner. Not his best friend. Gotta try some creative things (like staying up at night after he's gone to get it done), but I'm kinda stuck in my ways and want to get things done so I can sew.
Niki (my DIL) bought some fabric fat quarters when I was in Maine last summer and I finally got the quilt done. It's gorgeous! I machine quilted it and am reasonably proud of my endeavor. Niki also told her friend Mary Ellen that I sew and she asked me to make her a couple of purse inserts. They were fun, but I'm glad I don't have to make them for a living!
So, now on to making Kerry's birthday present, which was January 5.
Until later....
